Australia is planning to invest USD 1 billion in naval mines. The step will come to enhance marine protection from naval incursions of China and other threats.

Australia is making significant investments in its armed forces. The country is modernising its infrastructure and replacing ageing vehicles. Another step comes for maritime safety. According to international sources and local media, Canberra is preparing to acquire naval mines. The total budget for procurement is announced as USD 1 billion. Official sources also confirmed the movement, and they will accelerate the acquisition.

The country also enhanced its maritime power with new naval vessels. Australia used sea mines in previous conflicts as well. It can be seen that the Royal Australian Navy also keeps its ties with traditional measures to counter modern threats.
