Boeing offered an announced T-7A trainer to Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) at Avalon 2023 Australian International Airshow.


The company stated that the aircraft would soon be available for purchase by the Australian government. According to the company, the T-7A is intended to train future pilots for the F/A-18F Super Hornet, EA-18G Growler, and F-35A aircraft in Australia. Boeing recently lost the Malaysia tender against Korean Aerospace Industries (KAI) TA-50 trainer aircraft.

According to Boeing, the single-engine jet trainer has a digital open architecture and a reconfigurable cockpit. The United States Air Force (USAF) will also use the aircraft as advanced training in the T-X programme to replace the T-38 Talon. In the T-7A programme, Boeing partners with Saab of Sweden.
