Myanmar Unveils New Domestic Weapons

Myanmar celebrated its 75th anniversary of independence on January 4, 2023. New domestic weapons are spotted during a military parade at Nay Pyi Taw, the country's official capital city.

MAM-03 multiple rocket launchers and MMT-40 light tank were seen during the parade. Both platforms are considered as developed indigenously under the Directorate of Defence Industries' responsibility. According to international analysis, MAM-03 is developed from the 122 mm MAM-01. MAM-03 uses 300 mm rockets and uses a WS-1B launcher system mounted on a 6x6 truck of Chinese origin.

MMT-40 is the hybrid platform, which combines the hull and suspension of a 2S1 Gvozdika tracked self-propelled howitzer and Chinese-origin 105 mm turret. This component seems to be equipped with a fire control system and laser rangefinder. The vehicle's upper structure looks similar to those used in WMA301 and PTL02 platforms.
