Ares Shipyard announced the contract for ULAQ anti-Surface Warfare (ASuW) and anti-submarine Warfare (ASW) signed with the Defence Industry Agency (SSB) for the Turkish Navy.
The unmanned vessel will be equipped with configurable weapons and sensors for the ASuW and ASW missions.
Antalya-based Ares Shipyard and Ankara-based Meteksan Defence presented Turkiye’s first Armed Unmanned Surface Vehicle in 2020. The versions of ULAQ will be suitable for surveillance and intelligence, mine countermeasures, firefighting, and SAR missions.
