Ares Shipyard builds 122 Fast Patrol Boats (FPB) for the Turkish Ministry of Interior-Coast Guard Command. The shipyard has prepared a prototype for testing purposes. 

According to the programme, the Coast Guard tests the prototype in the Mediterranean, Aegean, and the Black Sea. Following the tests, It will ask for some minor modifications according to the test results in the sea.

ARES’s 35 FPB at Open Sea Trials

Following the end user’s feedback, Ares Shipyard will amend the 35 FPBs and start delivering them. The shipyard has five years to complete the programme. According to the timetable, it will deliver six boats every two months, and the first 13 boats will be handed over in 2021.

The boat has been designed and built for combatting irregular migration, search and rescue, anti-human trafficking, and maritime security and safety missions.
