ASELSAN prepares for new export products

ASELSAN invests more in remote-controlled weapon systems. The company aims to add new products to its product portfolio, which has been included in the inventory in 20 countries. ASELSAN’s systems, known as UKKS in Turkish, the Remote Controlled Stabilized Weapon Systems are used on different platforms.

Within the scope of domestic and international demands of 12.7 millimetres (mm) Stabilized Machine Gun System (Stamp-2), 25 mm Stabilized Gun System (Stop-2) and 30 mm Stabilized Gun System (Guard-2) developed for naval platforms production and deliveries continued. STAMP-2 is a remotely operated stabilized weapon station for small calibre guns. STAMP-2 can be fitted with either a 12.7 mm Machine Gun or a 7.62 mm Machine Gun or a 40 mm Grenade Launcher.

For land vehicles and fixed stations

A total of 3,100 systems were delivered in 2020. The contract for the export of Sarp to Hungary was signed and deliveries were completed. Deliveries of the Serdar Anti-Tank Missile System, which can be integrated with 12.7 mm and 7.62 mm machine guns and anti-tank missiles, to the Qatar Armed Forces continued.

ASELSAN started to work on Sarp’s new versions Sarp-Zafer and Sarp-L and Nefer unmanned weapon turrets within the framework of the UKSS.

Development and qualification studies of Sarp-Zafer NSV for the use of Sarp-Zafer with a Russian 12.7 mm machine gun and the Sarp-Zafer KPVT for use with a Russian 14.5 mm machine gun were carried out.

In addition, the qualifications of the 7.62 mm / 5.56 mm machine gun integrated Sarp-L were made within the scope of the needs of EGM, Land Forces Command and Bahrain Armed Forces. In line with the needs of EGM, the version of Sarp-L capable of loading ammunition from inside the vehicle was developed and qualified.

On the other hand, Sarp-L is expected to be included in the inventory within the scope of the Hisar-A Project.

The Nefer Weapon System, on which 25/30 mm automatic cannons and anti-tank missiles of western or eastern origin can be mounted, with 12.7 and 7.62 mm coaxial guns, is a first in the market with its lightness, low silhouette and other capabilities.

Nefer-L, which was developed for use in armoured combat vehicles, other tactical land vehicles and fixed facilities, was also qualified, and activities were carried out for fixed facility implementation.

SARP NSV DUAL is a remotely operated stabilized weapon platform for 12.7mm NSV and 7.62 PKM/PKT machine guns. The platform combines high-precision reconnaissance and engagement capabilities with effective firepower while keeping the operator under armour or in a safe area away from counterfire.

The system is designed to be integrated on a variety of tracked or wheeled armoured vehicles, as well as on stationary platforms. Stabilization, automatic target tracking and advanced ballistic computation features provide fire-on-the-move capability against stationary and moving targets. SARP NSV-DUAL has a Thermal and a Day TV camera which enable day and night mission capability.

SARP-ZAFER NSV, ASELSAN’s remotely operated stabilized weapon platform, combines high-precision reconnaissance capabilities with excellent firepower to serve tactical needs of the battlefield and protect critical infrastructures.

The system’s compact design proves SARP-ZAFER NSV a match for integration onto tactical vehicles, fixed surveillance posts and stations. Depending on the operational requirements, SARP-ZAFER NSV can be equipped with a 12.7 mm NSV machine gun or a 7.62 mm PKM machine gun. SARP-ZAFER NSV enhances the situational awareness of the gunner in his proximity through its extensive surveillance and remote control capabilities. At the same time, the vulnerability to attacks is decreased drastically by under armour ammunition reloading capability.

ASELSAN NEFER-L remote-controlled weapon station is developed primarily against armoured land targets. It becomes a match with its low-weight and silhouette for integration onto tactical vehicles and fixed surveillance points. While it can be mounted on 6x6 and 8x8 wheeled or tracked vehicles, it steps further by its indigenous design, enabling the integration of both NATO and Russian-origin weapons. Through its extensive surveillance and remote control capabilities, NEFER-L enhances the situational awareness of the gunner in his proximity. At the same time, the vulnerability to attacks is decreased drastically.
