Australia has renamed Loyal Wingman as MQ-28A Ghost Bat to indicate it as the military designator and name for the first Australian-produced military combat aircraft.
Australia’s Minister of Defence, Peter Dutton, announced the name at a dedicated ceremony held at RAAF Base Amberley, Queensland.While development program name will phase out Boeing’s product name for global customers will remain the Airpower Teaming System.The program under the new name will continue in development and testing, with a focus on sensor and mission capabilities to deliver on RAAF commitments.
