Bangladesh Deploys Meteksan’s Retinar PTR Radar

The Bangladesh Armed Forces have installed a Meteksan Retinar PTR Perimeter Surveillance Radar on the Myanmar border. A Bangladesh focused analysis (@DefsecaBD) published the photos from the Retinar PTR. The tweet on the subject included the phrase “Turkish-made Retinar PTR Perimeter Surveillance Radar by Meteksan Defense in use by the Bangladesh Army on the field along the Bangladesh-Myanmar border”.

According to the photo, General SM Shafiuddin Ahmed, Chief of Staff of Bangladesh, inspects an Infantry Division on the border with Myanmar on October 11, 2021. General Ahmet received information about the Retinar PTR Radar in the Infantry Division’s inventory during the inspection.

Meteksan developed Retinar PTR with national resources and exported it to Bangladesh in 2019. The Retinar PTR Perimeter Surveillance Radar is actively used by the Turkish Armed Forces and Gendarmerie General Command and the armies of friendly countries. It can detect a pedestrian from four km, standard vehicles from eight km and large vehicles from ten km.

The radar Pulse-Doppler spectrogram analysis may determine if the detected object is a person or an animal based on motion analysis by extracting the target"s Doppler signature. Two personnel can carry the radar system, which was developed by taking into account the personal burden of the soldiers in operation in their backpack.
