Bayraktar TB3 Conducts Maximum Load Takeoff/Landing Test

Bayraktar TB3 UCAV’s capability to take off and land at full load was tested on the 28th flight test conducted with the first prototype. The test to validate another performance parameter included multiple touch-and-go passes through the runway. Bayraktar TB3 is designed to have an MTOW of 1450 kilograms. 280 kg of the MTOW is reserved for payloads such as MAM-family munitions, KEMANKEŞ loitering munition, TOLUN SDB, and SUNGUR air-to-air missiles. Previously, the second prototype made a very short landing on the runway, proving its capability to stop quickly without needing an arresting gear. Bayraktar TB3 is set to operate from TCG ANADOLU LHD and has a similar mission profile to Bayraktar TB2, plus new capabilities in future, such as ASW with the integration of sonobuoys and possibly mini torpedoes. Thanks to folding wings, a small footprint will allow for the carriage of multiple units without significant impacts on the number of other aircraft.
