New era at Koç Bilgi ve Savunma Teknolojileri A.Ş. (KoçSavunma). Technology and Engineering Management Group Manager Mehmet Hakan Öktem is appointed as Defence Technologies Managing Director. With the appointment as of March 1, 2021, Öktem has undertaken all management processes of KoçSavunma.
Öktem took over the task from Yaşar Hakan Başaran. Başaran started to work at KoçSavunma in 2007 and took this position in 2011. Başaran will continue to work as a Consultant reporting to the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Koç Bilgi and Savunma.
Öktem started to work at Koç Information and Defence Technologies in 2009. Öktem graduated from Hacettepe University Electronics Engineering BSc and Master degree. Öktem started to work as a System Integration and Test Engineer in Roketsan in 1999. He later worked at a Boeing company in the US between 2003-2008 and returned to Turkey in 2008. He worked as Group Leader in Havelsan Öktem between 2008-2009. Since 2009, Öktem has worked as Project Manager, System Engineering Senior Specialist, Sonar Systems Unit Manager, Technology and Engineering Group Manager at KoçSavunma.
