British and Italian Defence ministers Ben Wallace and Lorenzo Guerini visited Turkey on April 9th to meet with Turkish Defence Minister Hulusi Akar. Minister Akar told the press that they had discussed many issues and cooperation in the defence industry following the meeting.In March, Professor Demir, President of SSB, exclusively told TurDef that the TF-X could only have one engine development program. His words excluded competition for the engine and urged companies, including Rolls-Royce, to cooperate on the TF-X engine.

Demir to visit Rolls-Royce next month with big Expectations
Turkish and British aviation industries are heading towards a new step. President of Defence Industries (SSB) Professor Ismail Demir will visit the United Kingdom in May. The details of his programme are not precise yet, but he is expected to see engine manufacturer Rolls-Royce and British Defence company BAE Systems and open a new cooperation path on the Turkish Fighter Programme TF-X and British Tempest.
