Demonstrator Deal Inks for FCAS

New developments exist on the Future Combat Air System (FCAS) front. Germany claimed there was an agreement on industrial participation, while French Dassault denied it. But the project is moving forward. The industrial partners inked a deal for FCAS Project.

Dassault published information about the agreement. The announcement is saying that a deal for Phase 1B of the FCAS. According to the agreement with Airbus, Indra and Dassault, next-generation European fighters are expected to fly around 2029. Phase 1B is consisting development studies of a flying demonstrator. Phase 2 covers the manufacturing of the prototype, which is planned for 2029. Parties determined 2027 for the first technology demonstrator, but the date was delayed to 2029 after reshaping the timeline.
