DSA 2024: DASAL Displays Rifle-Carrying Drone

Turkish DASAL put its FALCON-SiHA Armed drone with an assault rifle on display at DSA 2024 in Malaysia. According to Army Recognition’s report, DASAL’s recent UAV can carry an assault rifle with a capacity of up to 1000 rounds, depending on the type. In the exhibition, a FALCON-armed drone was displayed with a 5.56 mm assault rifle. Compared to the previous drones of the same configuration from Turkiye, FALCON can carry more ammunition thanks to its larger airframe. Additionally, a heavier airframe means less disturbance from the recoil, which is already dampened on such UAVs to ensure stability. FALCON is a multi-purpose UAV with a payload capacity of 15 kg and an MTOW of 70 kg. The UAV is powered by eight propellers counter-rotating in pairs. The UAV can be used as a light cargo platform or provide direct support to combatants with various payloads. These include mortar rounds, an anti-drone net launcher, and the recently unveiled small arms. DASAL is known for developing cargo UAVs of various sizes with payload capacities from 15 kg to 150 kg. However, the company pursues different uses for its platforms, with FALCON as an example.
