Dubai 2021: United Arab Emirates Orders Two Additional Airbus A330 MRTT

The UAE Air Force and Air Defence have formally ordered two additional Airbus A330 Multirole Tanker Transport (MRTT) aircraft, bringing the country's MRTT fleet to five aircraft. The arrangement was revealed during the Dubai Airshow, which Airbus hosted.

This agreement will also cover upgrading the country's current A330MRTT fleet to the latest enhanced version, with deliveries beginning in 2024. The UAE initially ordered three A330 MRTTs in 2008 and received three in 2013.

The A330 MRTT combines a modern generation tanker with over 250,000 in-service flight hours of operational expertise.

In total, 12 nations use A330 MRTT tanker aircraft. Since the program's inception, more than 60 aircraft have been manufactured.

Air Forces from Australia, France, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, the Republic of Korea, the UAE, and the United Kingdom are currently using the aircraft. NATO also makes extensive use of the aircraft.
