Greece continues to aircraft upgrade programme. The fifth aircraft has been delivered to Hellenic Air Force, a contract under Hellenic Aerospace Industries (HAI) responsibility.
Aircraft is planned to deploy at Crete Island. Greece would like to gain the upper hand in terms of combat aircraft against Turkiye. In this line, the country is modernising its F-16 Fighting Falcon fleet to Block 70/72 level in addition to the Rafale acquisition.
Greece is carrying out upgrade studies domestically with conversation kits procured from the United States of America. The program costs around USD 1.5 billion, and payment is planned across eight years deal.
