It has the narrowest turning diameter thanks to the all-wheel drive system, central tyre inflation system (CTIS) and power pack composed of a diesel engine and automatic transmission. The vehicle offers better mission capabilities than its predecessors" thanks to hi-tech mission equipment. It is armed with two independent Sancak RCWS. Weapon infrastructure offers high maximum elevation to high-ground engagement. The system can also use 7.62 mm, 12.7 mm machine guns or 40 mm automatic grenade launchers. Thanks to its universal mount, the weapons can be changed according to user requirements. This configuration brings all-around protection and high situational awareness capability. The vehicle has been specifically designed to carry special operations units to their mission objectives where multiple threats can be in place and provide fire support to the special operation teams in the field. It is able to operate in a wide range of terrains and climate types and is optimized for different operational requirements. It is highly versatile, reflecting the broad spectrum of potential missions and areas of operation.FNSS Delivers Pars IV 6X6 to the Turkish Special ForcesDespite the recent trend to focus more on major power conflicts, the demands placed on SOF will continue to increase. The increase in the intensity of nonconventional conflicts and the requirement of special operations make these vehicles necessary. S-Ops platforms provide a suitable solution to reconnaissance and sabotage operations, fire support during combat and armour protection for safety. Advantages would include allowing dismounted forces to use their vehicle as a scout, a fire support platform or a distraction during an assault or extraction. Alternately, SOF preparing for prolonged dismounted operations could send their vehicle back to a safe location or to the echelon to prevent its detection and then summon it for extraction.
