The LAV-700 is a development of LAV-6.0. It has a larger hull, greater level of protection, increased payload and a more powerful 711 hp engine compared to the LAV-6.0's 450 hp engine. The LAV-700 can also be equipped with the XM-913 Bushmaster 50mm cannon. The fuel tanks have enhanced ballistic protection. The maximum combat weight is 21 tons, of which 11 tons is the payload. The vehicle offers all-round protection from 14.5mm rounds and frontal protection from 30mm rounds.
On asphalt, the LAV-700 achieves a maximum speed of 110 kilometres per hour and a typical range of 1,000 kilometres. The vehicle can move uphill with a slope of 60 per cent, on terrain with a side slope of 30 per cent, and pass a water obstacle of 1.2 meters depth. The vehicle can be deployed in various versions such as personnel carrier, combat, combat support with a 105 mm gun, etc. In addition to the 50 mm cannon, the LAV-700 can be equipped with a remote-controlled weapon station.
It also incorporates an automatic fire extinguishing system and protection against radiological, biological, and chemical substances. In addition, the vehicle's protection can be enhanced with a laser warning system, a fire detection system, and an active self-protection system. Its carrying capacity is 6-8 fully equipped soldiers plus crew.
