German Navy Deploys in Indo-Pacific

Following a pause for EUNAVFOR Aspides in the Red Sea, “Die Marine” will deploy warships to the Indo-Pacific, including the frigate Baden-Wuerttemberg (F-222). During its deployment in the Red Sea as part of the EUNAVFOR Aspides mission, the German frigate Hessen (F-211) encountered a significant challenge. A radar malfunction led to SM-2 long-range air defence missiles launched at a U.S. MQ-9 UCAV missing their target. Naval News’ report states that the ships to be deployed will join together in the Atlantic Ocean and stop by Halifax and New York on their way to the Indo-Pacific. After the exercises are conducted with the USN and Canadian Navy ships, German ships will return through the Panama Canal. However, there are doubts regarding passing through the Taiwan Strait during the return.
