India Acquires 16 C295 Naval Operations Aircraft

India expands its naval air capacity in the Indian Ocean. Nine medium-lift transport aircraft are intended for the Indian Navy for anti-submarine warfare missions and seven for the Coast Guard for maritime patrol missions. Airbus-Tata joint venture will manufacture the aircraft.

With this order, India will become the largest user of the C295 internationally, having already ordered 56 to replace the legacy AVRO fleet.
