Practika's Kozak is a Ukrainian armoured personnel carrier fully developed and designed in Ukraine. The vehicle's first version was unveiled on August 24, 2009, during a military parade in Kyiv to commemorate Ukraine's Independence Day.
The previous Kozak 2 model was built on the EuroCargo 44 truck chassis developed by Iveco Defence Vehicle. The Kozak-2M2, on the other hand, is based on a monocoque design with a body shell constructed from armour plates rather than attaching them to a frame. This reduces the amount of weight required for a given amount of armour.
The Kozak-2M2 has a three-man crew and can seat up to eight infantrymen on individual anti-mine blast seats. The vehicle's hull provides ballistic protection STANAG 4569 Level against small arms firing with 7.6239mm API BZ calibre ammunition. The front section of an APC (Armoured Personnel Carrier) variant has four doors with bulletproof glass windows, two on either side of the cabin and two in the troop compartment. At the rear of the hull, one large door with a bulletproof vision block and firing port is mounted, allowing infantrymen to enter and exit the vehicle quickly. Three vision blocks and firing ports are located on each side of the troop compartment.
The Kozak-2M2's roof can be outfitted with a remotely controlled weapon station armed with a machine gun of up to 12.7mm calibre.
