Lockheed Martin displayed a photo of the C-130J-30 Super Hercules transport aircraft in Indonesia on its official website. This aircraft is one of five Super Hercules that will join the Indonesian Air Force’s other C-130 Hercules fleet.
The signing of the purchase of the five aircraft was carried out in 2019, but it was not announced. Purchases are made through Direct Commercial Sales (DCS) contracts. Previously, on September 7, 2021, last year, Air Force Chief of Staff (KSAU) Marshal Fadjar Prasetyo visited the Lockheed Martin factory in Bethesda, Maryland, United States and affixed his signature on the nose frame of the C-130J aircraft ordered by Indonesia.In his remarks, the Air Force Chief of Staff also said that obtaining an aircraft with modern engines, technology, and avionics systems was a big step for the Indonesian Air Force to adapt the Air Transport Operations doctrine.This first Super Hercules will also be sent to the country this year. The aircraft will be deployed in the 31 Air Squadron at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base, Jakarta.
