Japan to Acquire AMRAAM's

The State Department has decided to approve a possible Foreign Military Sale (FMS) to Japan of AIM-120C-7/8 Advanced Medium-Range Air-to-Air Missiles (AMRAAMs) and related equipment for an estimated cost of $293 million.

The Defence Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) delivered the required certification notifying Congress of this possible sale.Japan has requested 150 AIM-120C-7/C-8 Advanced Medium Range Air-to-Air Missiles (AMRAAMs); and three AIM-120 AMRAAM Guidance Sections. The estimated total program cost is $293 million.The principal contractor will be Raytheon Missile Systems, Tucson, AZ.
