NATO Defence Ministers To Meet Virtually to Discuss Russia’s War on Ukraine

According to a statement issued by the alliance on Tuesday, NATO defence ministers will meet virtually on March 16 to review the latest developments in Russia's conflict with Ukraine. Ministers will meet via secure teleconference. The summit will be presided over by NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg.

Due to increased tensions between Western countries and Russia, Russia's military buildup on the Ukrainian border, and Russia's assault on Ukraine, the military alliance has held high-level consultations at various levels in recent weeks. Following a NATO defence ministers meeting on February 16 and 17 at NATO headquarters, a NATO leaders summit was held by videoconference on February 25. NATO foreign ministers met at NATO headquarters in Brussels on March 4.

Russia's assault on Ukraine, which began on February 24, has prompted international isolation, financial sanctions against Moscow, and an exodus of global corporations from the country.
