Turkey’s first ship TCG Anadolu is expected to be delivered to the navy next year. The Spanish Shipyard is the subcontractor for Anadolu and it’s first goal is to finalize the contract for the second ship, TCG Trakya. Navantia provides is vessels to Spanish navy Armada. It is therefore hopeful that the S-80 class submarine, which it recently delivered to the Spanish Navy, may attract the attention of Turkey. However, it is known that Turkey does not have such an agenda.
Navantia has an eye on the air defence destroyer programme too.
It is hopeful about developing a platform based on successful F-101 class frigates within the scope of the TF-2000 Project or collaborating on technical support in the design process of the new air defence vessel.
