Today, the prototypes of the Ukrainian RK-360MTs Neptune mobile anti-ship cruise missile system have been handed over to the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Ukrainian Defence Ministry announced the hand over from its official Twitter account. “Prototypes of the coastal system with anti-ship missiles RK-360MTs “Neptune” were transferred to the Ukrainian Navy.
Defence Minister Andriy Taran noted that the new generation of armaments would increase the deterrent potential and increase Ukraine’s influence at sea.
The systems were manufactured under a state contract between the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine and the State Enterprise “Kyiv State Design Bureau Luch”.
Ukrainian Navy will protect the Azov-Black Sea region.
The missile system is capable of destroying surface vessels under any conditions. The missile has electronic warfare countermeasures.
