The State Department has approved a possible FMS to Norway of AIM-120C-8 Air-to-Air Missiles and related equipment for an estimated cost of $1.94 billion.
The Defence Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) delivered the required certification, notifying Congress of this possible sale today.
Norway has requested to buy 300 AIM-120C-8 Advanced Medium-Range Air-to-Air Missiles (AMRAAM) and 20 AIM-120C-8 AMRAAM guidance sections, which will cost an estimated $1.94 billion.
The proposed sale will improve Norway’s capability to meet current and future threats by supplementing and replacing its AIM-120B AMRAAMs with the latest version of the AIM-120C. RTX Corporation will be the principal contractor.
