OTOKAR Allocated 1.3 Billion Liras to R&D in Last 10 Years

Koç Holding company OTOKAR has published its 2020 sustainability report. The company is operating both in the military armoured vehicles and commercial vehicles industry.

The report states that the company focuses on “developing new hardware and applications in line with the needs of the future” and underlines that OTOKAR had allocated 8% of its turnover to R&D activities in the last ten years.

According to the report, the R&D expenditure of the company, which spent 202 million Turkish lira in this field in 2020, exceeded 1.3 billion lira in total in the last ten years.



OTOKAR General Manager Serdar Görgüç gave information about the results of the activities carried out. Görgüç said:

“Last year, we recycled 150,500 cubic meters of wastewater and brought it back into production with our consistent efforts to increase our sustainability performance and the projects we implemented. We have achieved 1,526 GJ (Gigajoule) energy savings and 300 tons of CO2e (Carbon Dioxide Equivalent) reduction in greenhouse gas emissions through our energy efficiency efforts. It has been a year in which the development of our employees, our most important capital, is observed, and we protect our egalitarian and participatory business climate. We continued our training activities to improve our employees’ professional knowledge and skills during the pandemic period. During the year, we conducted 24336 person x hour employee training. To reinforce awareness and knowledge on occupational health and safety, we provided a total of 13 thousand 668 person x hours of training to our employees.”
