Poland Buys Hundreds of Armoured Vehicles

The agreements, described as "highly consequential" by Defence Minister Mariusz Blaszczak, were signed with the state-owned Polish Armaments Group (PGZ) and included 700 heavy infantry fighting vehicles, 400 wheeled armoured personnel carriers, and hundreds of light reconnaissance vehicles.
In recent years, the country has signed deals with the Republic of Korea and the United States to purchase hundreds of tanks and multiple rocket launchers to form one of Europe's strongest armies.
According to Bazczak, the heavy vehicle will be built around an AHS Krab chassis with an unmanned turret. According to the Armament Agency (AU), the first deliveries to the Polish Armed Forces are scheduled for 2025.

The second contract is for the KTO Rosomak armoured personnel carrier.
The contract for 4x4 light reconnaissance vehicles is worth approximately EUR 270 million in gross terms and "provides for the establishment of industrial capacity, which will enable the production and provision of service and repair facilities in the country," according to the minister.
Poland purchased 1,400 Borsuk infantry fighting vehicles in late February.
