Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said he would deliver a Leopard 2 main battle tank to Ukraine, even without the approval of Germany. This was noted by Morawiecki in an interview on the radio on January 19, 2023.
Poland and Finland said they wanted to deliver 14 Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine. The shipment was supposed to get pre-approval from Berlin. Citing open information, Poland has a total of 137 Leopard 2A4 tanks being upgraded to 2PL, 105 Leopard 2A5 MBTs, and less than 10 Leopard 2PLs.Poland has ordered 250 M1A2 Abrams SEP V3 from the United States and 180 South Korean K2 tanks.
