Portugal Receives the first upgraded C-130H Hercules

The Portuguese Air Force has announced that it has received the first of four upgraded C-130H Hercules transport aircraft.

According to the statement, the remaining three aircraft are expected to be delivered in 2025. The upgrade is being carried out by the Portuguese OGMA Indústria Aeronáutica de Portugal at a total cost of €15.5 million. The program concerns the replacement of the communications, navigation and flight control systems such as radio altimeter very-high-frequency (VHF) radios; an intercom system; satellite communications terminal. This will be an interim solution until the operational integration of the new KC-390 Millennium aircraft. Portugal became the first export customer for Embraer’s programme.

FNSS
