Russian Army Gets 20 T-14 Armata before 2021 Ends

The Russian Armed Forces will receive 20 T-14 Armata tanks by the end of 2021, according to Major Dmitry Repin, Head of the 47th Military Representative Office, TASS, reported on November 26, 2021.

Alexei Krivoruchko, Russia"s Deputy Defence Minister, visited the Uralvagonzavod defence facility in Nizhny Tagil on Friday to inspect the production of the T-14 Armata and T-90 Proryv main battle tanks.

During his tour, Krivoruchko met with key authorities to discuss the development of the Armata and Proryv for Russian ground forces.

"Twenty T-14 tanks based on the Armata heavy multiservice tracking platform are scheduled to be delivered by the end of 2021," said Repin, who also serves as the company"s military agent.

It went on to say that, under the conditions of the state contract, serial deliveries of this armoured fighting vehicle would be completed before the end of state trials.

"Right now, the effort is being done to build a prototype batch before the end of state trials to obtain operational evaluation experience in the military," Repin added.

Repin didn"t say which units would get the Armata tanks. This, he stated, will be decided by the Ministry of Defence"s Department of Automotive and Main Armour.

Furthermore, the Armata base was designed for infantry fighting vehicles, armoured personnel carriers, and various other armoured vehicles.

On May 9, 2015, the T-14 Armata was unveiled to the public at the Red Square Victory Day Parade for the first time.

The vehicle is outfitted with totally digital technology, an unmanned turret, and an armoured capsule for the tank crew.
