SANCAR USV set for Mine Countermeasures Missions

SANCAR USV set for Mine Countermeasures Missions

HAVELSAN’s Programme Manager, Mehmet Görgülü, gave the information during an interview with Naval Systems Seminar’s media staff. SANCAR USV in mine countermeasures configuration is planned to be delivered at the end of 2023.
SANCAR USV is developed to be compatible with HAVELSAN’s ADVENT Combat Management System (CMS) installed in newer Turkish warships, such as Ada-class corvettes, TCG ANADOLU LHD, and I-class frigates. The USV uses ADVENT ROTA and ADVENT KALYON mission systems for navigation and cooperation with other naval platforms.
Unmanned mine countermeasure surface platforms can significantly reduce risks and increase efficiency during mine detection and clearing. Some of the new mine countermeasures ships are being designed around the idea of carrying and controlling USVs and UUVs fitted for the mission (Such as City-class MCMVs of Belgium and Netherlands).
Other USVs developed by Turkiye so far include:
ULAQ (ARES-METEKSAN Consortium) in Port Security, Electronic Warfare and ASW configurations; MİR (Sefine-ASELSAN Consortium) in USV Swarm Leader and ASW configurations; MARLİN (Sefine-ASELSAN Consortium) in Electronic Warfare and ASuW configurations;
SALVO (Dearsan) in ASuW configuration.
