The Spanish government has agreed to buy 36 H135 helicopters from Airbus, a light and twin-engine rotorcraft. The Spanish Defence and Interior Ministries will each receive 18 H135 helicopters. The Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of the Interior of the country issued the directives.
The air force and navy will receive 18 H135 helicopters from the Ministry of Defence. In comparison, the National Police and the Guardia Civil will receive 18 helicopters from the Ministry of Interior. The first deliveries are expected to begin next year. The Spanish Army currently has a fleet of 16 H135 helicopters. The rotorcraft will now be available to all branches of the armed forces, allowing for the standardisation of training fleets.
