Defence Industry Agency (SSB) organised the Counter-IED Conference with the participation of institutions and organisations that produce technological tools, equipment, equipment and similar products that are used or that can be used in combat activities against Improvised Explosive Devices (IED).
Representatives of institutions and organisations with experience and knowledge in the field of IED combat, Turkish Armed Forces, universities and research institutions participated in the event, which started at the SSB Nuri Demirağ Conference Hall and continued with demonstration activities at the Aselsan Gölbaşı Compound.
SSB Vice President for System and Operations Support Mustafa Murat Şeker, Gendarmerie General Command Communication Electronic Information Systems (MEBS) Director Major General Engin Çırakoğlu and ASELSAN General Manager Ahmet Akyol made opening speeches. During the four-day event, technical presentations were made by representatives of relevant institutions and organisations, and demonstration activities were carried out in the field.
Within the scope of the Conference initiated under the leadership of SSB, the projects currently carried out in the field of Combating Improvised Explosives, evaluations of the current situation on a national scale, R&D studies initiated, and innovative technologies followed on a global scale were discussed, and the importance of effectively carrying out the fight against IEDs was highlighted.
