The Presidency declared in sum that they aim to procure two unmanned vehicles to meet the need of the Naval Forces Command. One vehicle defends the bases and ports. The second will serve at Anti-Surface Warfare.The Base/Port Defence Vehicle is expected to be equipped with payloads for anti-submarine warfare. In contrast, the Surface Warfare Vehicle is expected to be equipped with some tactical missile system payloads.The Authority has also declared pre-qualification conditions for the companies to participate in the tender. SSB demanded that companies demonstrate their autonomous vehicle capability by August 15, 2021. The companies will demonstrate the vehicle"s capacity to avoid obstacles, track routes, and follow the navigation on the boat and software developed with domestic and national facilities.SSB to Supply Unmanned Surface VehicleAs of today, there are two separate systems and two separate collaborations with these features. The first of these is the Armed Unmanned Surface Vehicle- ULAQ, which results from cooperation between ARES Shipyard and Meteksan Defence. The other is the base /port protection platform, the ASELSAN – Sefine shipyard partnership product.About two months ago, Ekber Onuk, one of Yonca-Onuk shipyard partners, announced that Yonca – Onuk Shipyard is also working in this field.SSB to Supply Unmanned Surface VehicleTurDef learned that SSB would acquire a total of 16 of these vehicles within the framework of the urgent purchase. Ten of these vehicles will be for surface warfare, and the remaining six will be for base protection. Before this purchase, SSB will have acquired one each from platforms with this tender.
