SYS Shows its Strength in Africa

Turkish small arms manufacturer Samsun Yurt Savunma (SYS) maintains a busy schedule at the Africa Aerospace and Defence fair AAD. The fair started on September 21, and SYS has continued to experience intense meeting and agreement traffic since the first day of the event.

SYS, which has been active in South Africa, one of the world’s largest individual armament markets, is preparing to add new agreements in the region for many years.Didem Aral, SYS Trade Manager, shareholder and Member of the Board of Directors, said, “As the world’s sixth largest handgun manufacturer, we continue our fair tour. We were a stand that attracted great interest and demand at HuntEx, the Hunting and Shooting Fair held in Africa on April 22-24. We continue to be the centre of attention at the AAD fair, where the defence industry is represented. At the fair, we met with many armoured vehicle platform manufacturers, system manufacturers, naval system manufacturers, and electronic system manufacturers among our potential customers. At the same time, we are evaluating cooperation opportunities by making contacts with many countries here. Within the scope of our intense negotiation traffic, the projects that we have been in contact with for a long time and the preliminary agreements of these projects are on our agenda.”

Didem Aral said they held many meetings regarding their latest product 12.7x99 mm anti-aircraft gun CANiK M2 QCB, pistols, optics, accessories and military textiles and said, “We also want to integrate all weapon systems into the land, naval, and air platforms. Again, we have the opportunity to share the opportunities of our sub-companies, UNIDEF and UNIROBOTICS, which include our integration capabilities, with the authorities of all countries in the region, especially South Africa.”
