The UK and Poland to develop a ‘Future Common Missile’

UK Defence Secretary Ben Wallace and Poland’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence Mariusz Bazczak signed on 4 October an Air Defence Complex Weapons Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at the Zamo Military Base in Poland.

,m,sterThe agreement will allow the United Kingdom and Poland to collaborate on developing and producing current and future complex weapons. The British government’s official website announced the signature.

Though requirements for the missile are still in development, it is envisioned to be a medium-to-long range, surface-launched missile that can be used in both Land and Maritime environments. The future missile will be a member of the CAMM family of missiles.

The Ministers also signed the Arrowhead-140 Statement of Intent, which establishes the framework for the United Kingdom and Poland to collaborate on the procurement and operation of three Arrowhead-140 frigates. Polish Navy will use the variant of Arrowhead-140 frigates.
