Defence Ministry announced that the Turkish Army accepted various ACVs with ASELSAN’s NEFER turrets and KOLUMAN’s Wheeled Container Carrier Vehicles (DROPS). Zeki Aktürk, Press Advisor of the Turkish Defence Ministry (MOD), stated at today’s press conference that the Turkish Armed Forces has completed the acceptance tests of various amounts of Armoured Combat Vehicles (ACV) with NEFER turret and 8x8 Wheeled Container Carrier Vehicles (DROPS). The NEFER turret is a product of ASELSAN. It is an unmanned system used primarily against armoured land targets. It has day and night imaging and gyro-aided stabilization capacity. To help the gunman, it counts fired rounds.
KOLUMAN manufactures the DROPS. The vehicle may carry a 20-tonne ICC container. The basic cabin is armoured and can be prepared for ballistic levels up to mine blast.
