Turkiye to Modernise Entire F-16 Fleet
Turkiye’s Defence Industry Executive Committee (SSIK) has decided to begin F-16 modernisation. But there is no detailed information published. According to Turdef’s sources, Turkiye plans to modernise its entire F-16 Fighting Falcon fleet. Turkish Aerospace is conducting research, development and qualification studies for Özgür (Free / Independent) modernisation programme. It is known that domestic contribution to the program is at a high level. TurDef’s exclusive sources indicate that the capability of F-16 Özgür aircraft would be equal to Block 60 +. According to the same channels, the Turkish Air Force plans to modernise the entire F-16 Fighting Falcon fleet.

In total, 133 are former Block 30TM and Block 40M. One Block 30 aircraft is already upgraded to Özgür.
