Turkish Defence Industry Agency (DIA) announced that Turkiye is at a new stage on unmanned surface vehicles (USV). DIA introduced a new member on USVs, MİR (Chief / Commander ), and MİR has performed a mission with Albatros-S USV.
ASELSAN and Sefine Shipyard have developed the MİR USV. Albatros-s was previously unveiled. According to the DIA message on social media, MİR and Albatros-s have performed a mission together. The USVs with different bodies and capabilities have shown their swarm technology which is called a heterogenous swarm technology.
MİR reaches 40 knots and has a range of 600 nautical miles.
It can perform a mission for four days. It is equipped with ASELSAN’s Kırlangıç
E/O surveillance pod, Karetta anti-jam GNSS, and Stamp 2L remotely operated stabilised
weapon station.
USV Swarm technology helps unmanned systems to perform missions in cooperation.
President of IDA, Professor İsmail DeMİR, underlined that four Albatros-s USV had previously performed a swarm capability. This time a new platform with different specs is added to the ability.
