Platforms are expected to enhance the Sea Projection National Capability of Italy. The agreement"s main contractor is IDV, a brand-new Italian Iveco Group. Italy is planning to acquire 36 VBA in line with the contract. Vehicles can launch and recover from an amphibious vessel in an open sea and offer ballistic protection against small and medium calibre arms as well as Improvised Explosive Devices and mines.VBA is developed for the Italian Navy.
