Yonca-Onuk has Signed an MoU to Build Four MRTP24 for Qatar

The Yonca-Onuk joint venture will produce four Fast Missile Crafts (FMC) for Qatari Special Forces Command. The shipyard already delivered four Special Operation Crafts (SOC) in 2021 to the same command. Chairman of Yonca-Onuk joint venture Şakir Yılmaztürk and commander of special forces Brigadier General Jassim bin Ali al Attiyah signed the MoU at DIMDEX in Qatar.

The command has preferred MRTP-24 vessels for FMC, as it is already familiar with SOC missions. The MRTP-24 for SOC missions had space for 16 personnel while FMC will carry 12. The SOC version had two rigid hulled inflatable boats on board. This number is reduced to one at FMC. The FMC will have surface-to-air short-range guided missiles and ASELSAN 12.7 stabilised turret STAMP. The craft can reach 55 maximum knot speed and has a 500 + nautical mile range. The SOC could get 54 knots top speed.
