U.S. Deployed its ‘nuke sniffer’ aircraft in the U.K.

The United States Air Force deployed a WC-135W “Constant Phoenix”, a nuclear sniffer, to Royal Air Force (RAF) Mildenhall Air Base in the United Kingdom on January 30, 2021. The aircraft with call sign ATOM01 specialises in detecting radioactive particles in the atmosphere, hence its nickname – the “sniffer.”
