UK Secretary of State for Defence Grant Shapps unveiled the Challenger 3 MBT from his social account as “the first fully British built tank in 22 years.”
A deal was signed between the U.K. MoD and Rheinmetall BAE Systems Land to equip the new Challenger 3 MBTs with modular armour.
British Defence ministry announced that the army would get next-generation Challenger 3 battle tank. “A multi-million-pound investment will deliver the most lethal tank in Europe and allow us to modernise our land forces.” The ministry said on Twitter.
