Australia may Acquire up to five Virginia-class Nuclear-Powered Attack Submarines

Australia may acquire up to five Virginia -class nuclear-powered attack submarines from the United States until British ones are ready for construction. The purchase, which would take place within the framework of the AUKUS agreement between Washington, Canberra and London, would allow the Royal Australian Navy to dispose of these submarines for the next decade, increasing the Australian deterrent capacity against the Chinese Navy.
