One step of the project has been completed in producing the HGK-82 Precision Guidance Kit, designed by TÜBİTAK SAGE and produced by the Defence Ministry company ASFAT Inc. So far, more than 500 HGK-82 kits have been delivered to the Turkish Air Force Command.
The kits produced at the 3rd Supply and Maintenance Centre Command are delivered to the Turkish Air Force Command after the inspection and acceptance.
The production of 1000 guidance kits is planned within the project"s scope, while deliveries will be completed by August 2022.
HGK-82 is a GPS/INS guidance kit that transforms existing 500 lb Mk-82 general purpose bombs into smart weapons. The BRU 57 ejector rack can carry more than one bomb simultaneously. HGK-82 has a range of 25+ kilometres. With the use of the National GPS Receiver KAŞİF, the locality rate of HGK-82 reached up to 80 %.
