High-Level bureaucrats from the United Arab Emirates and Egypt met last week. UAE Defence Ministry, Assistant Under-Secretary for Support and Defence Industries, Major General Dr Mubarak Saeed bin Ghafan Al Jabri, met with Major General Kamal Wafaa Radwan, Head of the Egyptian Defence Ministry’ Armament Authority, during his official visit to Egypt.
According to UAE national news agency WAM, the two sides discussed new opportunities for strengthening overall relations between the UAE and Egypt, particularly in the defence industries and promoting partnerships between Emirati and Egyptian defence companies.
The two sides also expressed a desire to exchange relevant expertise and discuss defence industry cooperation, as well as resolutions, legislation, and mechanisms for facilitating business between both countries" defence industry companies and integrating their research and development.
Major General Al Jabri also met with Major General Mokhtar Abdel Latif, Head of the Arab Organization for Industrialisation, and invited him to Abu Dhabi for the 2023 International Defence Exhibition and Conference (IDEX) and Naval Exhibition and Conference (NAVDEX).
The meeting also discussed the future of the two countries defence industries, particularly entrepreneurship, advanced technologies, the Fourth Industrial Revolution, citizen cadre training, strategic partnerships with major international producers, and research and development support.
