STM Company’s Rotary Wing UAV, carrying mortar ammunition BOYGA has passed the acceptance tests. Professor İsmail Demir, President of the Defence Industry Agency (SSB), announced that the drone was delivered to the security forces.
BOYGA is the latest member of STM’s tactical mini UAV product family. The drone carries MKE Inc’s 81 mm mortar ammunition which is reconfigured to be released from a drone. It is typically launched from a mortar. BOYGA will be used in counter-terrorism and asymmetric warfare environments. It has a 30-minute endurance with mortar ammunition onboard. The BOYGA reaches a flight altitude of 1,500 meters, and a single soldier can carry it as it weighs 15 kg. The operating range of BOYGA is five kilometres.
