Ukraine and Russia hold peace talks in Belarus

Ukrainian and Russian delegations met on the Belarusian border to negotiate peace conditions. On Monday, cease-fire talks between Russian and Ukrainian authorities resumed on the Belarusian border, four days after Russia attacked Ukraine. The first-round talks aimed at ending the fighting between the two countries has concluded with no immediate agreements.

According to many accounts, negotiations in Pripyat were not going well. Russia sought the recognition of Crimea, the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DNR), the Luhansk People's Republic (LNR) inside their respective borders, and the federalization of Ukraine.

According to the Ukrainian president's administration, the talks began to achieve an early cease-fire and the departure of Russian forces. Russia has been more cautious about the negotiations, with the Kremlin reluctant to comment on Moscow's intentions.

The next round of Russia-Ukraine peace talks will take place on the Belarusian-Polish border on March second.
