Italy's Fincantieri shipyards announced that on December 22, they delivered to Qatar the "Al Khor" corvette, the third of four " Al Zubarah-class” corvettes. "Al Khor" was launched in September 2021. " Al Zubarah" are MRC (Multi-Role Corvette) type ships, a design which forms the basis of Eurocorvette development.

The State Department has decided to approve a possible Foreign Military Sale (FMS) to Qatar of the Fixed Site-Low, Slow, Small Unmanned Aircraft System Integrated Defeat System (FS-LIDS) System of Systems and related equipment for an estimated cost of $1 billion.
